My blogger-poet-friend Ingrid inspired me to create a Twitter account and start writing #APoemADay, which I began on January 1, 2021.
Below is my second week of Twitter poems:
Shabbat Shalom from Jerusalem,
David
Would it be cheating
— Skeptic's Kaddish (@kaddish_s) January 9, 2021
to copy poems from my blog
onto Twitter?
I wonder.
Whom would
I cheat if I am
writing #APoemADay
for myself?
Time seems
to blur as I am writing
and tweeting days ahead
of time anyway.
I don't
even know
when I wrote this one

A steamy poem
— Skeptic's Kaddish (@kaddish_s) January 10, 2021
filled my nostrils
wafted up to
my mind
I could see
it
in the air
when I breathed
out
into the cold@Experimentsinfc #APoemADay pic.twitter.com/epvL9StzjK

I cannot think you enough, Dear
— Skeptic's Kaddish (@kaddish_s) January 12, 2021
Poem, for you are
my everything
I walk around mumbling
you, but words
sound better unspoken#APoemADay @Experimentsinfc pic.twitter.com/zI0gpJGbBq
Swallowed
— Skeptic's Kaddish (@kaddish_s) January 13, 2021
by my computer screen I
find myself
looking straight
into your eyes
How are you?#APoemADay @Experimentsinfc pic.twitter.com/i4aQr2Pu4Q
Showering
— Skeptic's Kaddish (@kaddish_s) January 14, 2021
Window open
Breeze blowing lightly
Forehead against cold tile
Water hot enough to steam
Skin reddening
Sensations
Poetry perhaps
Life certainly
Death eventually pic.twitter.com/Gq2RlL4x7P
I suppose I
— Skeptic's Kaddish (@kaddish_s) January 15, 2021
No longer value life
No longer see a point
No longer mind
It's okay. It's
Inevitable.
Don't mind
me. I'm dying
to tell you everything. pic.twitter.com/sk7cWs44Nn

Nice! I really like Jan 10 and Jan 11
💖
Swallowed is my favorite. I often find myself lost in front of my computer.
Eric, thanks so much for the feedback – that’s exactly the image I had in my mind 🙂

“…but words

Beautiful write!
💗
nice job.. I’m doing a quote a day and that’s all I can muster up.. 🙏🙏🙏
with my writng and work of course..
Thanks so much, Cindy 🙂
Are you quoting famous people? Or quoting your own wisdom?
-David
You’re so welcome!! More like daily meditations I’m writing after meditating.. ❤️
That’s a really cool practice/goal, Cindy 🙂
Oh thanks Ben. I figure in a year I would have a book to put it in if I don’t figure out what exactly my book is. 🤣👏🤗
Hey Ben, thanks for liking today but that link was broken too so I took it down. Did you get to see my Heaven Meets Hell Post? I wrote on Friday but it says 2 days ago. Totally foulded it up.
Yep – I just commented 🙂
BTW, you can feel free to call me ‘David’ – that’s my actual first name ❤
Oh I usually do… sorry about that.. Oh good.. I soooo much apprecaite that! He’s a numbers guy and it was fun to do so I’d like to do more. He gets like 600 likes in a week. Brings out a different side of my writing 🙏🙏🙏soooo much. I’ll go see. ❤️
Yes, good luck to you Ben, and your second week is an eclectic buffet of poetry..I liked the shower especially…you covered the whole timeline:):)
😀 thanks as always, Karima 😀
I am really enjoying your micro-poetry and am honoured that you are taking part in my challenge! I feel like there’s so much chatter on Twitter that sometimes the poems fall on deaf ears, but imagine how much poetry we will have produced by the end of the year!
All of that “chatter” is why I had not joined Twitter until you floated your idea… and then I thought – wow – that’s perfect for Twitter!
Yes, I once tried to spread poetry around Facebook but that went down like a lead balloon. Instagram is not much better but on Twitter there is space for a poetic arena!
I can imagine 😀
Reblogged this on Love and Love Alone.
Poetry perhaps. Life certainly. Death eventually. — Aye, that just about sums it up. You know, David, sometimes you are quite a lovely madman.
🤪
Nice poetry. It’s good that you posted here for the benefit of WP followers.
😀
I got the idea from Ingrid.
I used to blog daily – did it for over 5 years. Then I started taking the weekends off. That lasted another 7 years. When I switched blogging sites to WP I decided M-W-F was sufficient. Enjoy the daily poetry but don’t feel any guilt for posting less… My mother was always big on quality over quantity. (though all these are good!)
What was your goal? Were you trying to earn money from your blog or just blogging for purposes of self-expression? (or some other reason?)
-David
I love that you took the idea and then made that into the poem. Great work
Thanks so much, Eilidh ❤
-David
Great idea. I’ve been attempting to do a post a day. It is harder than it looks. I admire you for taking on the challenge.
Thank you so much, Molly… it’s a totally new concept and genre for me. I’ll be very curious to look back when the year is over and read all of them – one-after-the-other!
Shabbat shalom,
David
Good luck
