      1. But I don’t agree with him. My understanding of the meaning of life, an explanation that is nearly as brief as Kafka’s but says virtually the opposite, is found in John 17:3. As an atheist-turned-agnostic in my mid-20s it started me on the journey that has defined me.

        1. I do, however, appreciate the subtextual implications in Kafka’s statement, that grappling with the fact we’re going to die should determine the way we live.
