Simplicity is a divine state of wisdom.

I was never one to enjoy opening my eyes underwater…

fascinting and fun read about these great fish! ๐
Cindy, I’ve been somewhat fascinated by goldfish for nearly a year now – ever since my daughter brought one home from preschool ๐
oh it’s soooo great it’s lasted!
we have had many in our day but sadly haven’t lasted.
๐
Great. Hidden in plain sight. ๐น๐
Exactly ๐
Fish have definite personalities. And they do look back. (K)

I have never perceived fish as wise, but your haiku is lovely, David.
maybe this one was born with a mutation!
What was born without a mutation, the fish or the haiku? The haiku seems perfectly well formed and delightful.
I meant the fish – maybe he’s a mutant fish genius ๐
That was a tongue-in-cheek Odessa style question, David. So your other fish in that aquarium are normal dummies?
the other is a tetra fish, and it’s clearly much dumber than the goldfish – it exhibits no curiosity in the world beyond the aquarium whatsoever.
I trust your opinion, David.
๐ such a cool post – images sometimes complement micro-poems so well don’t they. Wisdom, or -simplicity indeed – maybe two sides of the same coin hahah
Thanks! I think they definitely are. I do my best to live by the KISS principle.

David
That is such a great principle, David ๐ I wish i could live by it more wholeheartedly (will keep trying though), but I truly ADMIRE anyone who does/can!! ๐ Anna
Anna,
๐ I only said that I do my best!
I didn’t say that I succeed!

This is somehow wise, adorable (the pic), and sad (because we usually see fish like this through an acquarium wall) all at once. Love. โค๏ธ
Lia, I wrote an aquarium poem too ๐ it’s the one just before this one.

David
Haha I just read it now! It is really well done David. ๐ค
I’ve been fascinated by goldfish ever since my daughter brought one home from preschool last July!
I read a beautiful book with a goldfish in it – a book my husband gave me one xmas – the perfect book for me at that time – it was called “The reader on the 6:27”
๐ณ I’ve never heard of it
Well, I loved it. And I don’t often read fiction… but he loves it (sci-fi mostly)… and that one for me turned out to be one of those that felt so true to life… maybe that’s why I loved it.
๐ค thanks for the recommendation

I would have never imagined a gold fish as being wise but you said it and now I can’t think otherwise while staring at the two big eyes in the picture. ๐คฉ๐
