My first Terzanelle
Beginnings bring inevitable ends
It's oft said the fourth dimension is time
Beginnings bring inevitable ends
Poets struggle to find reason in rhyme
Our endings birth beginnings for others
It's oft said the fourth dimension is time
Fulfillment is too often another's
Some would bleed themselves out onto pages
Our endings birth beginnings for others
Futile queries of ancients turned sages
Only spiritual rhythm matters
Some would bleed themselves out onto pages
Of bodies naught remains but mere tatters
Peace exists in only three dimensions
Only spiritual rhythm matters
Though some may cleave to other pretensions
Peace exists in only three dimensions
Beginnings bring inevitable ends
Beginnings bring inevitable ends
A terrific terzanelle!! ๐คโค๏ธ๐ซ

Really enjoying reading the vast array of forms you are experimenting with. You have a gift for creating something special with them all. Have you tried a Nonet net? (Apologies if you have and I’ve missed it). I tried one out the other day and found it not as challenging as some of the other forms
Thanks so much ๐
I did try my hand at a nonet once – here you go – https://skepticskaddish.com/2021/02/07/ambition-or-foolery/
Wonderful….
Iโve never heard of a Terzanelle poem…will have to give it a try..
KT, I’d never heard of it either until yesterday ~ I was just searching for new forms and came across it. If you write one too, please share it with me!

I will post it when I do.

What an interesting form. And well delivered. ๐
Thanks so much, M. A.

Hmn… do you prefer ‘M. A.’ or ‘Melissa’?
Either is fine with me. Sometimes I go by Mr. Atner just for funsies. ๐
“Fulfillment is too often another’s
Some would bleed themselves out onto pages
Our endings birth beginnings for others”
I love that.

Excellent poem written from a poet’s point of view. There are so many forms and so little time! I am partial to the interlocking forms so this is one that I’ve not attempted in many many years. I just might need to dust it off!!
Muri, thank you! I still have to try that form that you used recently… what was it called… *checks*…. oh yeah ~ a “Trimeric”!

Thanks, Michele!
I’m good at making words sounds true ๐

Yes, you certainly are. ๐
In this one, the truth found is more than just the sound. โจ
Gorgeous David. You are brilliant. I cannot even write a haiku.
Gabriela, you’re so far beyond haikus that it’s not even funny. You defy poetic norms.
David… thank you. You are too kind, but still I cannot even write a haiku ๐

Gabriela writes
such breathtaking poetry
she makes haikus blush
AW… David, you took my breath away and made me blush, Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am deeply grateful to you. I do not know what else to say.

I enjoyed your poem, David.
Thanks so much, Claire โค
Sincerely,

David, you are so good at experimenting too.. I have never tried a Terzanelle, my forte at one time in my life, was the Villanelle, but this is wonderful.. I really enjoyed how you put this together..It would be wonderful to read out-loud:)
I just randomly came across this form today, Karima – I’m so glad you enjoyed it ๐

Love seeing all the forms you’re experimenting with – brings me back to high school English class (in a good way).
heheh, thanks ๐
it’s really fascinating to me in a way that it never used to be in high school.
