I break up words for syllable count often, but I don’t generally use hyphens. They add to your verse though, and do slow it down into a gentle rhythm. (K)
I was just trying to work with the form, Kerfe… and hyphens felt natural to me. Maybe I was not brave enough yet to split up words in a less conformist way ๐
I think the way you did it was just right for the feeling you were trying to create.
Can’t even explain why, mate, but I love this. It IS calming. Ha!
