A Star Wars limerick
“Do or do not, there is no try.”
So declared the green ancient Jedi.
But, then, as I fell,
I heard Yoda yell,
"I meant not that people can fly!"

This is a great way to practice writing poetry in a different way than I’m used to. Usually they are driven by emotion and it’s like the words materialise all by themselves. Intentionally setting out to write a poem with a subject and an idea already in mind is a difficult thing for me, but improves my writing skills for sure! Thank you for sharing your witty and well written poem. 😊😊
I’ve really only been discovering and trying various forms of poetry for a year or so, Hamish… but they intrigue me – I feel like other poets throughout history created these forms for one reason or another… so, at the very least, I want to get a sense of how they affect my intended meanings.
Thanks! ❤

So much fun… I love the thought of flying, but I think Yoda knows that gravity works.
Yes, I think he does 😀
A limerick! What joy and fun. Thanks.
My pleasure, and thank you, Sean ❤
