I wrote that because there’s a book in Australia that has made quite a stir called “Dark Emu”. It’s a very well researched reinvestigation of what white people really saw of indigenous Australians when they first arrived. One account is of a man with a truly ingenious fishing system which basically delivered the fish to his lap. But instead of being congratulated on his ingenuity, the white settlers branded him lazy.
