A rhyming quadrille
Luke Glueck was the Duke of the uke; he’d get drunk and twang like a kook. His drinking and juking drew rebuke, cuz every damn’d night he would puke and collapse on the floor, his brain nuked. It’s no wonder Luke always got rooked!
A d’Verse prompt
The above free verse poem is my take on d’Verse’s Quadrille challenge #131.
The quadrille is simply a poem of 44 words (excluding the title), and it can take any form. This week’s challenge was to use the word “juke” in a quadrille.
I enjoyed all those ‘uke’ sounds David – this gave me a giggle!
💙 Thanks, Ingrid! 💙
I love the rhyming verses and also your photo. Made me smile tonight. Thanks for joining in.

😀 That Luke sounds like a bit of a crook!
😆 Worms 😆
Hehe! That is always a danger of overindulgence – the puking…. My husband hasn’t been drunk or hungover since the day before Passover the first year of our marriage. And he will never again make such an egregious error in judgement!
😂 Muri 😂
This poem made me laugh. Nicely done.
🧡 thanks, Arcadia! 🧡
