News, or: If truth be told

A sijo

Clearly, a divide exists between \ news and reality
News reporting is sensational \ due to commercialism
I am no postmodernist \ but reality confounds me too

  1. Oh, I’m very much in agreement! I find that my mental health benefits from avoiding mainstream media.

Also, I wanted to say that I’ve been trying to check your blog a few times now, but every time I clicked on your name ( I like to snoop the blogs of anyone who clicks a “like” on mine) I’d be directed off and away from the wordpress reader. While that in itself is cool ( I like to see how people set their blogs up) I couldn’t find a way to see your posts, let alone “Like” or comment, for some reason. (The reason might just be that I’m an idiot, as it only just occurred to me to try looking at your blog using the wordpress reader instead… *facepalm*…. Now suddenly I see all your posts at last!).

Anyway. Lovely to be accquainted over the friendly world of wordpress!

  2. I am with you, David. It is sad and frustrating to see what has happened to the field of journalism over the years and yes, reality can be a confusing test. Much better to live in the land of poetry and fiction.😁 At least while and when we can. ❤

  3. I certainly get that David. We haven’t watched the news in about 15 years. Now I know that sounds weird but it is healthy. I listen to NPR and catch articles on issues that are important to me on my computer, I also fact check. People who watch news for entertainment become a bit one sided I have found. So excellent point my friend. Sending hugs via fireflies not the news. ❤️🤗😘

  4. It requires a keen mind and tenacity to ferret out the reality in the “news” as presented… I’m tired. I’m tired of working so hard to find the truth!

  5. I’m taking a break from “news.” Just once, would the talking head reading his teleprompter report something factual with no opinion. It’s too stressful for me.
