Go with the flow? or: Hardly

A concrete quadrille

                   burble whoosh STREAM trout turtle
pebble swish THE turtle ripple
                crayfish AGAINST stonewort
plankton algae GO bubble
             stonewort TO ripple rock
snails rock TEND trout
           burble ripple ALWAYS
whoosh bulrushes I
          REASON whoosh
larvae SOME
          FOR crayfish
splash BUT
          WHY crab

          DON’T

d’Verse

The above free verse poem is my take on d’Verse’s Quadrille challenge #132.

The quadrille is simply a poem of 44 words (excluding the title), and it can take any form. This week’s challenge was to use the word “stream” in a quadrille.

  1. Took me a lifetime to understand this 😂 but yeah the comments helped me lot.

(My brain just cant comprehend this kind of amazing writings and wordplay)

    1. Thanks so very much, Ali! I really appreciate your kind words ❤

BTW, please feel free to call me ‘David’ – that’s my actual first name. The word ‘ben’ just means ‘son of’ in Hebrew – my pen name is confusing, I know!

      David

        1. 🤗 Ali 🤗

I actually love names too, Ali – aside from them being a sign of respect, I’m always fascinated by their origins and meanings! I love names!
