who is growing

whom we laid to

The
present
eludes me

  1. The future is elusive and the present very transient. Only the past is unchanging…. Even if people are continually trying to alter what was!

  2. Living through memory while watching your present blossom. Thank you for sharing.

  3. The present is all we have now. Luckily, we cannot predict the future and the past is gone (but lives for ever in our memories). Beautiful David, both poems and picture. ๐Ÿ’™

    1. Filipa,

The photo just seemed to match… it’s like the “present” in the middle of an ocean of time ๐Ÿ™‚

(well, that’s what it looks like to me, anyway!)

  4. I resonate with that, David. I think we miss the present moments much more often than we realize. We donโ€™t live in the moment, I feel as if most of us continually live in the past (I.e. wishing things were like the good, old days, or hoping for a better future thatโ€™s different from your past). We crave the future, but neglect at times what is the present moment. Beautifully said, poignant, and evocative. โค๏ธโค๏ธ

    1. Lucy – you said that so eloquently (as you always do)… I think, from now on, I’ll just contract my poetry ideas out to you; you write the poetry for me, and I’ll post it!
