Confession, or: Admission

A lanturne

On
Shabbat,
I sometimes
cheat and check my
phone

#2

Still,
I would
not pen new
verses on that
day

#3

I
don't like
admitting
to my lack of
faith

been thinking of your secret and the book
The Secret….. I didn’t love that book as the secret about the book was it was no secret.
        not sure you’ve read it.

  1. I like your lanturne! Can’t stay away from words can you? ๐Ÿ˜Š I’m inspired to write one now. Thanks

          1. David… It’s only when I read your lanturne(s), that I wrote this…so thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. That’s barely my only concern – in fact, it’s one of my lesser concerns… it’s also that the more I don’t follow my tradition, the more comfortable I feel not following it and the more I drift away from it. But I do value it, and I do want to remain a part of it, and raise my child[ren] in it.

  2. BTW you are in good company with your name sake King David. When he was in need and was hungry, he and those who were with him:ย entered the house of God, in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ateย the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those who were with him. Perhaps you too are hungry and in need of the opportunity to pour out those verses that are feeding others in their hunger and need. I know for one your poems bless me.

  3. Perhaps that is faith at work in you? For the Sabbath was made for man and not the man for the Sabbath. The Spirit of that law is to enjoy God, right? And aren’t you enjoying Him most as you glorify Him in your gift of writing? I would like to think so. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. Anna, that’s very sweet ๐Ÿ™‚
In part, I definitely agree with you, but, in part, I know that I can come up with reasonable sounding excuses for all of my religious indiscretions ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thank you!
      David

  4. Imagine I am checking your phone for you, then writing any notifications down on a piece of paper for you. Now, all you are doing is reading a piece of paper!

    My pleasure.
