Pre(e), or: Posterity

A rispetto

Sometimes spontaneous expressions
Sometimes we call out to the muses
Sometimes unbidden confessions
Sometimes words one hardly chooses

Always reflections of(f) the heart
Always offerings of and to art
Always labors born of the mind
Always truest of what's left behind

  • In Hebrew, ‘pree’ means ‘fruit’

  1. Nice on David., loved it!!

Just adding to “Sometimes words one hardly chooses”
(limitation of words w.r.t expressing one’s thoughts)

“Sometimes “Words” muse me to write,
But Always, Ain’t enough to recite,
Sometime, Defeating allies to budding vision,
But Always, Curbing guards in mind’s prison.
Sometimes, Courageous heart wants to express free,
But Always, disfigures precious feels to debris.”

  2. This is fantastic David! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ So much in these 8 lines about the writing/poetic process but 3 lines that stand out to me are the last 2 of verse 1 & first line of verse 2. Lines & inspiration that we don’t go looking for or want to go looking for. And reflections of/f the heart in that are poems and words are mirror reflections of our heart laid bare and musings from inside it. Just brilliant sir! โค๏ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
