Thank you, or: Special

A Panegyric Poem

Thirty pairs of little eyes searching for you daily,
Every morning, smiling, you welcome them gaily,
Concerned enough to hold heart-to-hearts with each,
Encouraging them, teaching - nothing's out of reach.
Your classroom atmosphere's of kind, loving respect,
Assuring young hearts, learning, yearning to connect.
Their parents, confident in your wise, gentle way,
Take delight in watching them skip off to school each day.

  1. “Teachers”, selfless trees of learning,
Once, under whom we were frail saplings.
    Nurtured, protected, disciplined playful minds,
Yet received menial wages, for the draining grind.
They led us from empty darkness to knowing light,
“Gurus!”, Showed us true path of enlightening right.
But, Forgotten and Neglected are these “Architects of society”,
We the “fruits of their labor”, boastful in our proprietary.
Today, the least to be done is remembrance,
Respect and Salute to “heroes of our deliverance”.

  2. Nice on David πŸ™‚ πŸ’™ … Loved the emphasis on the trust between students/parents and teachers. It’s a very special and respectful relationship.
