A sad limerick
"Come! You -must- write me," the death poem said.
"Please, dip your quill, lest you're found dead."
Mort was much too frail and tired...
'Twas then he died, feeling inspired...
So, his weeping jisei wrote itself instead.
Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.
–Ben Harper (b. 1969)
Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!
Black comedy – I like it.

This was great ๐ I only noticed the sad element after a couple reads… well done! ๐
it took you a couple of reads? ๐ It’s about someone dying!
Yeah ik but I found it hilarious at first, then a bit more reading brought out the sadness in me ๐
๐ you’re so cold-hearted! ๐
I don’t think you can ever be sad with limerick. Even this one is, if not hilarious, cute.
๐ Limp, your compliment brings tears to my eyes.
sadly far too many leave it too late … so glad poetry can write itself! We can all retire now ๐
