Stuff, or: Nonsense

My 2nd Minute Poem

They're packaged into forms as though
we poets know
how to use words.
How quite absurd.

Syllables; enjambments; and lines
can sound sublime
and pleasure bring -
but mean nothing.

Our hopes rest with our audience,
who might gift sense
and meaning to...
You do? Who knew!

Minute Poetry

The Minute Poem is rhyming verse form consisting of 12 lines of 60 syllables written in strict iambic meter. The poem is formatted into 3 stanzas of 8,4,4,4; 8,4,4,4; 8,4,4,4 syllables. The rhyme scheme is as follows: aabb, ccdd, eeff


Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

  2. The last verse hits the nail on the head for me David as sometimes you don’t know the power of your written words or if they’re any good at all until you read your poems in front of an audience?! 👍😊
