An American sentence:
Let’s have an interaction. I’ll write. You use your imagination.
What’s an ‘American Sentence’?
Allen Ginsberg, inventor of the American Sentence, felt that the haiku didn’t work as well in English. Ginsberg decided to remove the line structure of the haiku, maintaining the requirement of 17 syllables total. He felt that removing the line count freed the American Sentence up for the idiosyncrasies of English phonemes.
- Composed in one line;
- Syllabic, 17 syllables;
- Condensed, written with no unnecessary words or articles;
- Complete sentence or sentences;
- Includes a turn or enlightenment.
Let’s write poetry together!
When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.–Ben Harper (b. 1969)
Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

Couldn’t have said this better. Very clever. 🙂

This I like. Sincerely expresses my view on writer/audience. My view. In reality, it seldom works out that way.

Trifle or Tiramisu?
🙂 Tiramisu is one of my mom’s favorite desserts
Oh nice. And my mom use to make the best trifle. Every year at Christmas when my friends traveled back home from Joburg they would come pick up their bowl of trifles. Those days feel so long ago. I’m so happy right now that the memory flooded me. Oh yes and i can make a mean one of both of them.
Wow.Fantastic. That is the way it is supposed to work.
Awww…. Thanks, Molly.
That sums it up perfectly. Any creative process. (K)

I like it!
That must be because you have a very active imagination 😀
I’d love to see you try this on your daughter.
She uses her imagination all the time with no prompting 😌
Are you writing it down, keeping it (as a journal?) for her in the future. Maybe a special birthday gift.
you mean all the stories that she comes up with? no, we haven’t… it’s so non-stop that it gets annoying for us, TBH 😳
don’t get me wrong… it’s cute… but just ENDLESS…
Cricket,or football? 🙂
I’ve never played cricket 🦗
what about football?
I assume you mean what Americans call soccer ⚽? Yes.
Ah ok, some say football, some say soccer 😶… what’s your favorite sport then?
I was on a swim team as a boy
Ah nice! I used to swim well, but due to lack of practice I abandoned it entirely 🙂 Now I’m into basketball and football 🏀⚽
Your question about the Plein air went into outer space. Alexi Markovitch hosts the blog,he is an artist from Russia. I would bet they are his. He seems to have his latest logo on them.
oh, I see 🙂 – so it was something that you found online, which you liked?
It’s from one of Alexi ‘s blogs. We have been following each other for about 5 years. He writes poetry,sometimes, keeps reinventing himself.
Though he posts other’s art this looks like his.
