South of Ukraine, or: Not by Russia

My 1st Sparrowlet

South of Ukraine... not by Russia...
Stuck in Moldova... Gosh, such a
frustrating and unforeseen pain
that my wife is there and thus - a
traveler stranded with no plane...
Not by Russia... South of Ukraine...

d’Verse prompt: The Sparrowlet

At d’Verse, poets were prompted to try their hands at constructing sparrowlets:

  • meter: iambic tetrameter;
  • a sestet – a poem with 6 lines;
  • the first ½ and the second ½ of line 1 make up a refrain, which is switched in the final line;
  • rhyme scheme:
    • xxxxxxxb
    • xxxxxxxa
    • xxxxxxxb
    • xxxxxxxa

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

  1. I don’t know how, but there must be a future.
    I never thought that there will be war again.

    I know the Russian song well (in German): Хотят ли русские войны? (Wikipedia)

    I think the most do not want war.
    Neither do the most Germans and neither the most people of the world.
    I would never have believed it that th Russian Army starts it.

    In almost all new wars, the warriers tell “We just want to help”.

    (Thought when reading the poem.)

    I do not understand how it could happen.

    I cannot write more now.

    But I will continue with poetry, photography and friendship.

        1. why is it depressing that there’s a war and my wife couldn’t fly home on schedule due to the violence? I’m not sure I understand your question, Anand.
