Her jade(d) eyes

The curse was purported to be unbreakable; but the minstrel winked at the princess with a mysterious confidence.

“You hope to succeed where so many failed?” she asked dispassionately. “Very well. Which key will unlock my caged heart?”

The bard looked past the keys hanging from the ceiling, directly into her jade(d) eyes, and pulled out his flute. “I believe it’s ‘C’, my Lady.”

  1. I really love this, David. You have the knack of telling a complete story in a few phrases, and making us see the story unfold as if we were a third party to the conversation.

  2. A CAGED heart to be opened with a ‘C’ key and a LONELY heart to be opened with an ‘L’ key (to spell out ‘L’ for LOVE) How right it is David!
