Cowed into silence, those sitting around the circular table observed as the sorcerer raised the enchanted wine glass over the sleek surface and slowly turned it sideways. Water miraculously began pouring from the empty vessel, as the wizard inverted it fully and placed it at the center of the table. The crystalline liquid continued spreading, then pooled into a single stream, flowing directly towards Reckus.
“The glass has chosen!” thundered Renpos. “Reckus shall descend into the catacomb.”

Makes me wonder if someone lifted the table a bit…
Very well written. Pulled me immediately into the scene.

So close to St. Patrick’s Day, when ancient Celtic legends abound. This could fit into that world so very well too

This does not sound good. But a very clever usage of the word. Wonderful! ๐
maybe it is good? maybe there’s an exclusive dwarf party and only one human is allowed to attend each year? ๐
This definitely has that feeling of a old movie; thunder, orchestra swelling…or silence and just the crackle of the film as the water runs toward the actor miming shock as he realizes where he’s headed. And then the cue card: The Catacombs! Really, really enjoyed this.
