A quadrille (44 words)
Having sprung past spring in the course of but
one too-brief week, Israel once again puts
winter radiators back into seasonal
storage; opens windows wide;
embraces summer's heat
with open arms,
sweat dripping
down the small
of its back,
straight
into
its ass
crack.
d’Verse Quadrille #149
The above poem is my take on today’s d’Verse’s Quadrille challenge. The Quadrille is simply a poem of 44 words (excluding the title), and it can take any form. This week’s challenge was to use the word “season” in a Quadrille.
Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.
–Ben Harper (b. 1969)
Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!
A vivid and delightful picture.

At least you know where you stand (or sit as the case may be) (K)
😆 Kerfe 😆
Loved this David — but I hate a sweat-puddled ass crack! 🤨
🤣 Rob 🤣
That ending is so vivid and hilarious.
There are many reasons I don’t live in Israel, but I have to say that going to the beach in Tel Aviv in March/April was kinda awesome.

More sterling work, David. The shape of the poem, internal rhymes, ribald imagery; loved it. I see Israel as under 5’9″ tall with a hairy back.
😂 Glenn 😂
Damn that’s funny! 😆
😁 Steven 😁
Lol. Sydney sometimes felt like that. No transition. This is humorous and cleverly structured.
😅 Worms 😅
Ha! Great stuff! Sweaty in a good way…JIM

David, a heat that has sweat rolling down my back and into the crack is but a fond memory and sweet anticipation for me. Wonderful Q that makes me smile, as I know you are enjoying it right now.
🙃🙂 Lisa 🙃🙂
A timely, cheeky delight.
😜 Espie 😜
Ha! Super silly, David, and I can see the droplet slipping down in your poem.
😅 KK 😅
The ass-crack of Israel, now there is an image, lol. What neighborhood is that in?
Seriously, tho, I enjoyed your poem
😆 Chris 😆
