Uncounted war crimes, or: Murderer(s)

Poetry Partners #72

‘Will They Continue?’, a poem by douryeh of ‘Daily Observation’

Will there be war, soon
Or will they renounce the folly
Our world will be lit by Sun & Moon
But, again, blood will flow abundantly

An alouette by ben Alexander of ‘The Skeptic’s Kaddish’

The battlefield's strewn
with innocents hewn...
ravages now apparent.
Uncounted war crimes
mark benighted times.
Barbarousness transparent.

Troops came wielding guns,
left not having won...
thousands killed in their volleys.
Vile tyrant boys sent
with murd'rous intent.
Arrogance vast... such folly!

Muri’s poetry scavenger hunt

My friend Muri (Val) is running a poetry scavenger hunt for Na/GloPoWriMo, which I shall attempt to participate in fully this year.

From what I understand, she’s offering three poetry prompts every week for the duration of the month of April ’22 (on MWF).

Last year, I was pretty busy with my personal micropoetry project so I only responded to several of her poetry challenges, but this year I hope to rectify that!

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

  1. Quite effective. I like, incidentally, this form. The subject of course dark, but the form somehow settling.

Pardon, Master Poet. Might I ask a question of you? One day, finding yourself unoccupied [chuckling to himself] tell me what “form” the works of Robert Service4 take. I’ve a selfish reason as I’ve a MAJOR undertaking composed Serviceian.
