You quit when the gorilla is tired…

Life is one long process of getting tired.

Samuel Butler (1835 โ€“ 1902)

I’ve got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom.

Thomas Carlyle (1795 โ€“ 1881)

The vision of a champion is bent over, drenched in sweat, at the point of exhaustion, when nobody else is looking.

Mia Hamm (b. 1972)

I’m an artist. Artists don’t need permission to work. Regardless of whether I’m acting or not, I write. I write when I’m tired in fact, because I believe your most pure thoughts surface.

Chadwick Boseman (1976 โ€“ 2020)

Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.

Newt Gingrich (b. 1943)

Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.

Jules Renard (1864 โ€“ 1910)

Success is a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don’t quit when you’re tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

Robert Strauss (1913 โ€“ 1975)

Itโ€™s so important to realize that every time you get upset, it drains your emotional energy. Losing your cool makes you tired. Getting angry a lot messes with your health.

Tired minds don’t plan well. Sleep first, plan later.

Walter Reisch (1903 โ€“ 1983)

  1. Exhaustion has nothing to do with laziness or ambition or determination. Anyone who thinks so has never really been exhausted. (K)

Indeed! ๐Ÿ‘ Artists are always making art even when nobody else is looking! You don’t need people watching you to verify that. And he’s bang on about the writing when tired thing too! More truth comes out.

Yes indeed, tiredness is the ultimate test of whether you really believe in what you’re doing.

  3. I just had to smile at Samuel Butler after he uttered those words. I can really hug him for putting his exhaustion into such simple and fragrant language, the fragrance coming from that hug should linger with me for days.
Balm for my thinly layered energy and then all the other positions and admonishments for tired and exhaustion are engraven and noted.

      1. Lol
That just put you to sleep
I will take it as the lala lullaby
        Goodnight ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ด
