Profiled by Ken Hume

One idea I’ve entertained (which has been done before by other bloggers) is to profile and/or interview fellow writers whose content I particularly enjoy. This is something that’s long been on my back burner; and it will probably remain there for the foreseeable future because I’m simply too busy to invest myself in another new project. Still, I love this notion, especially as it develops our worldwide writing community.

Recently, and much to my surprise, my blogger-poet friend Ken Hume decided to undertake exactly such a project; and he featured me as his first subject! I am so honored. One week, Ken wrote about me and The Skeptic’s Kaddish; and, then, the following week, he interviewed me. So, if you’d like to get to know me a bit better, please head over to Ken’s wonderful poetry blog and read those posts ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

By the way, one thing that Ken posts on a weekly basis (Thursdays, if I’m not mistaken) are his personal movie reviews, which I consistently enjoy and read voraciously. I’ve ended up watching some of the films he’s recommended, and I haven’t been disappointed even once! This man is a true movie connoisseur!

Ken also shares insightful quotes that he’s come across, but he doesn’t simply publish them on his blog (like I do, for example) – he actually expounds upon them and shares his own reflections, a terrific example of the man’s wisdom and contemplative nature, which I have so come to love.

When I read Ken’s poetry, waves of emotions often wash over me, as he’s so deeply attune to his inner self; and this comes across in nearly his every line. Ken has experienced more than his share of loss in his life, and he also experiences deep love and joy, all of which suffuse his verses. His poetic talent inspires me ~ whenever I verse, I am aspiring to Ken’s brave earnestness.

      1. I’m still battling the block, waiting for the words to return. Just takes time, I suppose. I must say, your constant output of high-quality poetry is an inspiration to me (I think my muse could learn a thing or two from yours!). ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. A rispetto of mine:

Were we to form a writers’ bloc…
Perhaps we could push back the Beast
That poets know as Writer’s Block…
Surely it’s worth a try at least?!

          Whenever Demon courage stomps,
We’ll force It back with writing prompts…
          When Archfiend motivation smothers,
We’ll rally to inspire each other!

          1. Bravo! I like this! ๐Ÿ˜€ I much prefer a Writers’ Bloc to writer’s block. Nicely done, good sir! ๐Ÿ™‚
