The road which makes death a fulfillment…

Death is the mother of Beauty; hence from her, alone, shall come fulfillment to our dreams and our desires.

Wallace Stevens (1879 – 1955)

Unless we include a job as part of every citizen’s right to autonomy and personal fulfillment, women will continue to be vulnerable to someone else’s idea of what need is.

Gloria Marie Steinem (b. 1934)

If a poem is each time new, then it is necessarily an act of discovery, a chance taken, a chance that may lead to fulfillment or disaster.

A. R. Ammons (1926 – 2001)

The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal, the more assuredly the idea, buried deep in our subconscious, will direct us along the path to its fulfillment.

Earl Nightingale (1921 – 1989)

Do not seek death. Death will find you. But seek the road which makes death a fulfillment.

Dag Hammarskjöld (1905 – 1961)

People take different roads seeking fulfilment and happiness. Just because they’re not on your road doesn’t mean they’ve gotten lost.

H. Jackson Brown Jr. (1940 – 2021)

Life finds its purpose and fulfillment in the expansion of happiness.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (1918 – 2008)

The game is my wife. It demands loyalty and responsibility, and it gives me back fulfillment and peace.

Michael Jordan (b. 1963)

Always work hard. Intensity clarifies. It creates not only momentum, but also the pressure you need to feel either friction, or fulfillment.

Marcus Buckingham (b. 1966)

If you so choose, even the unexpected setbacks can bring new and positive possibilities. If you so choose, you can find value and fulfillment in every circumstance.

Ralph Marston (1907−1967)

    Hallelujah!! 🙂

My choice since her observation still stands today and if one consider what has happened in America in recent times.
More than that Steinem attributed her feminist learning to women of color. Women like Audre Lorde, Alice Walker and Gloria Josephs. There are many others too. She also held the view that older women think that their experience is still relevant — which it may be, but they will only know that if they listen to younger women. In her feminist journey Steindm acknowledges the experiences of marginalized women. She said it allows us (white feminist and the movement at large) to better address and dismantle inequality — and this extends beyond experiences with race.

      1. Thank you David, I’m happy I could do that. I read these women when I was young. Besides we hosted Audre Lorde fairly often at one of the universities in Germany particularly during women’s month which allowed me to experience her teachings and own experiences in America, first hand.

        Much love too.

  3. I am loving the death quotes. Much as it hurts those left behind, it’s important to remember that for life to occur, death has to happen. A good day to you!
