Restrained, or: Vain

A limerick

The sovereign cared but for her own rights,
beheading serfs for perceived slight slights.
When came castle under attack;
her every vassal took a whack,
with vain queen restrained by her own knights.

W3 poetry prompt

This poem was written in response to Ami’s W3 prompt ~ to write a poem, using both the word ‘sovereign’ and the word ‘rights’.

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

  1. Well according to the dark limerick, if I read it correctly, crudely said, karma has been delivered!
    Her own knights restrained the wicked queen.

    Well done versifier.
