Sunny, or: Moon-Moon

Two limericks

Sun to Moon

Oh, adorable Moon-Moon, my Sweet,
come, let Sunny give you a treat.
Those boys don't appreciate you!
You're special! If only they knew!
Use my beams! You'll knock 'em off their feet!

Moon’s response

Buuuut, Suuuunnny! I do NOT want your help!
I can handle those bullies myself!
Whenever I shine with your glow,
THEY say it just goes to show
that I'm nothing more than a star's whelp!

W3 poetry prompt

This poem was written in response to Punam’s W3 prompt ~ to write a poem in any form about the moon from the sun’s perspective or vice versa.

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!
