Milestone: Poetry Partners
I have posted 101 Poetry Partnerships as of this morning. My intention has been (and remains) to give priority to poets with whom I have not yet collaborated, but I accidentally responded to two separate poems by one particular poet, which brings my current total to 101, rather than 100. Feel free to look through the list to figure out who that individual is. ๐
So, in regard to my Poetry Partners initiative, there’s an announcement that I’d like to make: There are very few poems left in my Poetry Partners queue written by poets with whom I have not yet collaborated.
Nota Bene:
- If you and I have never collaborated, I would love to respond to your poetry; and if you submit a poem to post at The Skeptic’s Kaddish, you will immediately be at the very top of my queue. It will probably only take me a few weeks to publish your poem and respond to it.
- If you and I have already collaborated, I will soon start going through the poems I’ve received written by poets that I’ve already published… And: Assuming that I don’t suddenly receive an unexpected flood of new submissions, I will likely publish those poems in the next several weeks.
- ALSO: Feel free to submit a second poem if you haven’t yet!
Poetry Prompt: Wea’ve Written Weekly (W3)
On a related note, I am so happy to see that our new community-run poetry prompt has taken off so successfully, and I strongly encourage you to join us!
The concept is very simple (you can read more about it if you’d like): Every week, one member of our W3 poetry community shares a poem and one or two writing guidelines for participants. Once the prompt closes, that same community member reads all of the submissions and selects one poem to serve as the W3 poetry prompt for the following week.
In other words, this is a bottom-up poetry prompt: No one individual or group of individuals is running the W3 poetry prompt. Rather, any W3 participant can be selected by the previous week’s “Poet of the Week” and take charge of the prompt for a week.
W3 Prompt gets posted every Wednesday at 10:00 AM (GMT+3).
Congratulations, David!
