Strumming duvet chords, or: Pounding drums of war

Poetry Partners #105

‘Sleep’s Oasis’, a shadorma by Suzette Benjamin of ‘Suzette B’s Blog’

sleep's oasis
strumming duvet chords
eyelids
quiver, their
arrows looting rem from dreams
sonorous shofar

A shadorma by ben Alexander of ‘The Skeptic’s Kaddish’

chambers pulse
pounding drums of war
nightmare leaps
tramples down
bedridden by dark death night
comforter crumples

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

  1. Love these! Good dream thief vs bad dream generator – always a balance and a gamble as to which it will be on any given night!

  2. “arrows looting rem from dreams”
    “bedridden by dark death night”

    Powerful imagery 💜
Fantastic work, Suzette and David 💜
