Indigo, or: Ajna

A Garland Cinquain

unfold
chakra petals
you'll start to recognize
where you've been & where you're going
third eye

insight
a bridge between
right and left hemispheres;
heaven and earth; your life and death
transform

the night
expands over
people and the Divine
a deep part of you awakens
wisdom

lower
into higher
spiritual currents
caution grounds humanity on earth
rooted

shatter
your illusions
consciously create life
experience "Aha" moments
Ajna

unfold
the bridge between
yourself and the Divine
caution grounds humanity on earth
Ajna

#TankaTuesday

The above garland cinquain was written for Colleen M. Chesebroโ€™s โ€˜Tanka Tuesdayโ€™ prompt: Poets were prompted to write syllabic poems inspired by a chakra color of their choice. I chose the color ‘indigo’.

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Ben Harper (b. 1969)

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!
