A ‘cascade’ poem
Insecurities dribble like sweat from my brow I can't stem the holes in the many bursting pipes Flailing, I'm pulled into perfectionism's whirlpool Work correspondences run down my screen Anxieties float to the surface with every email Insecurities dribble like sweat from my brow An emergency! Quick, send out a press release! Wait! Incorporate the feedback on that proposal! I can't stem the holes in the many bursting pipes I drift, nowhere, in ripples of procrastination Crushing foamy waters mindlessly burst over me Flailing, I'm pulled into perfectionism's whirlpool
W3 poetry prompt
This Cascade was written in response to Sylvia Cognac’s W3 prompt ~ to write a poem that includes the word ‘water’.

I am sharing this poem for d’Verse OLN #321.
Let’s write poetry together!
When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.–Ben Harper (b. 1969)
Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!
