Two horses charge through a misty forest unto a dusty road
As if pursued by an invisible being
As if racing to the end of the world
Reminds me of something I could no longer remember
Like a dream I cannot fully remember
I can sense from the drumming of their feet
That something is coming

two horses charge through a misty forest unto a dusty road		along the edge of a jagged cliff
as if pursued by an invisible being		that beckons me too urgently with its siren song
as if racing to the end of the world		past the granular, hazy horizon
reminds me of something I could no longer remember		in the dark, distant recesses of my mind
like a dream I cannot fully remember		a thick, gravelly voice whispers, ‘Come…’
I can sense from the drumming of their feet		something is amiss, I sense something… something…
that something is coming		… something far worse than an unnatural death
