I cheated on Jerusalem
with Haifa of the free; free; free
of strife, of tension, not to mention:
of hostility;
Floating in Haifa, 'pon the sea,
squinting at the sun, one with wave
breaks, done playing brave;
beaming, having fun;
I cheated on Jerusalem
with Haifa for a time, time, time;
heart charting its smooth course through
breezy, free~floating rhymes
W3 poetry prompt
This poem was written in response to Britta Bensonโs W3 prompt ~ to write a poem that includes the name of a city, town, village, etc.
Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.
–Ben Harper (b. 1969)

David you make wish I was in Haifa soaking up all those ocean breezes. Someday I will get to Isreal but for now I will see it through your poetry.

You do make a strong case for Haifa, David. Hope to visit Israel one day. โค๏ธ

It reads like a rational exchange and respite to me.

One of my friends who live in Israel loves Haifa too. I’ve just finished a book with an amazing chapter about Israel. I hope one day I’ll visit your country David. My great grandmother visited it 10 times and I keep the faith that, one day, it will be my turn. Besides, I have two good friends living there.
Come visit Jerusalemโฃ๏ธ
