All work, or: No play

Poetry Partners #118

A poem by Murisopsis of ‘A Different Perspective’

Laying down lies
Lying down lanes
Climbing the ladder
Being a pain
Practicing patience
Patiently pacing
Working on papers
Checking the spacing
Writing reminders
Reminded of rights
Weekly pay stubs
Staying up nights
Hurrying hours
Ours aren’t a plus
Docked for tardies
Vacation’s a must

A poem by ben Alexander of ‘The Skeptic’s Kaddish’

Waves crash ~ breathless ~
Breathlessly waving
Game vacationers
Waters braving
Bask in freedom
Relax it's beach time
Ten day getaway
Holiday sublime
Tail end of summer
Rum lime mint cocktails
Loud flocks of seagulls
Playful gray whales
Children and parents
On Memory Lane
Grudgingly turn home
Real life's a pain

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Ben Harper (b. 1969)

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

  1. Kudos to both of you on a fun and delightful collaboration. I really like the format here–it’s smooth and playful. Well done, folks. 🙂
