Together, or: Apart

Again, I'm parenting
alone without my spouse, who's now abroad,
stuck with daughter's chatter, unrelenting-
this, our known path, oft trod.

Of course, she's older now.
So, it's much easier to get along;
I'm not new at this- have long since learned how
to stay upbeat and strong.

Together, we'll- get through
this challenging week without our dear Mama;
brush teeth; get dressed; go off to work and school;
then, at night- pajamas...

I know we'll be okay,
but if I'm to be quite honest with you,
I count down every single passing day...
And Chatterbox does too!

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!
