You, or: Me

Near year's end
Only the most tenacious
Victims of the biting drifts
Endure at the neglected
Margins of society
Bearing [witness to] icy indifference
Even as they huddle, shivering,
Ravaged by rejection

W3 poetry prompt

This verse was written in response to Paula Light’s W3 poetry prompt, which was to write an acrostic poem with the word ‘NOVEMBER’.

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Ben Harper (b. 1969)

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

  1. I ‘clicked’ on the “like’ button to indicate I read – yes, I like the highlight/focus of reality – and yet – I no-likey reality as it is – and continue to find ways, where I am, with what I have, whith who I am, to help where I can – cuz, this stuff? Ain’t no funny business – deadly serious and affects so very many levels of folks globally, for so many different reasons – some under human control, some not – but – in my idealistic heart world? ALWAYS the bottom line to gauge/assess any idea, proposal, action against – by me or others, in context of scope, always and forever – ❤

That’s the struggle for all humans who care about other humans’ humanities…

      1. I tend to question all ‘breaking news’ but, after seeing more news here, in my country, regarding the liberation of Kherson? I hope and pray it is true, all while my heart breaks over the healing and rebuilding to be done after the first joyful celebration is ‘over’ and the hard work for those in Kherson, starts – – hugs and loves to those souls in Kherson region
