Seas, or: Sees

“When does winter begin?” my seven-year-old asks me this evening. “Well,” I smile, “technically, it starts in December, which is just around the corner.” Funny thing is, she already knows this – but she likes to talk just for the sake of talking; and she likes to get others talking too.

The on-again-off-again rains in Jerusalem have begun. Recently, they’ve been mostly-off, which isn’t good for the land, but I rather prefer drier weather, other than these brazen mosquitoes that have been flying around of late, enjoying the lethargic warmth of summer. Winter, now that I consider it, isn’t exactly breathing down our necks.

d’Verse Haibun Monday: aki no koe (Autumnโ€™s Voice)

At d’Verse, writers are encouraged to write autumn-themed haibuns today.

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

๐Ÿ˜‚, she is so cute and clever.
    A pretty Haibun
    Gorgeousness
    Mosquitoes are terrifying
And won’t allow for cosy conversation
