Jerusalem morn, or: Mourn

A series of chain verse haiku

Jerusalem morn
mourners to be cannot know
no normal morn this

this rough desert plant
planted bombs hidden by leaves
leave many wounded

dead innocent child
child lost to destroyed mother
there at the bus stop

Terrorist bombing in Jerusalem

W3 poetry prompt

This series of chain verse haikus was written for Aishwarya Kannan’s W3 poetry prompt. Poets are encouraged to write at least three haikus in chain verse, using the word ‘mother’.

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Tragedies are hearbreaking. Meditated and planned ones are devastating.
    My deepest sympathy. ๐Ÿ’”

  2. My sincere sympathies. You described the terrible tragedy amazing. It’s sad we poets have to find our inspiration in such horrific events. But the world isn’t perfect at all.
