Jorges, Olegs, or: Thomases

A limerick

With accursed weakness for Adonises
(Whether Jorges, Olegs, or Thomases),
The lonely, lovely lady,
Beguiled by suitors shady,
Would fall head over heels for false promises.

Moonwashed weekly prompt

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Ben Harper (b. 1969)

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

  1. Fun. …While I never had one I remember the candy shaped like a ‘binky’… odd that.
But I also remember the fake candy cigarettes which one won’t see these days. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Happy 2023!!

      1. Sometimes I am watching Jeopardy! and I get the clue… the younger folks don’t. Does that mean I’m like a good wine? Getting better… not older ๐Ÿ˜‰

          1. Ok, I had no idea that heel took on such a shady meaning as well

How terrible, repeating the same mistake with all her lovers.
