A ‘Garland’ Shadorma
please don't pre-
empt your conception
of thorny
ideas
before taking a moment
to reflect on them
do you con-
tend you can under-
take the most
difficult
challenges put before you?
what of poetry?
challenging
for people to with-
stand all con-
tradictions
put before them on journeys
from birth to decease
do you feel
simply overwhelmed
with the pre-
cepts and ex-

coil to which we're bound?
lately, I
have been wondering:
how does one
avoid in-
tensive, infernally con-

expression
through verse, tortuous
though such may
be, provides
release and respite from dumb-

please don't pre-

‘Garland’ Shadorma?
The ‘Garland’ Shadorma was created by Sylvia Cognac, modeled after the ‘Garland’ Cinquain. Essentially, it a Shadorma series of seven stanzas, with the seventh and final stanza being composed of lines from all six previous stanzas.
Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.
–Ben Harper (b. 1969)
Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!
I’m not a poet, but when all the incongruent, inconsistent, growing pile of ‘what shows up’ seems to feel as if it’s bent on overwhelming me? Ahh – then? That’s when I most tempted to try work through it – by free verse poetry – in fact – I only seem ever, to really want to write in that form….when words escape me in any other form possible – sigh – if I’m writing poetry, or attempting to? Um, dark soul of the night, for moi – but it works to heal or nourish the ‘internal me’ – whether it’s ‘good’ or fit for public consumption or not – usually – “NOT” – but, well, if I’m writing alot of poetry? Sigh – time to reassess myself, and core internal functionality – ๐
