Poetry Partners #153
A poem by Tricia Sankey
In my dream
you have hands
like a clock
pointy and judgy
countering all reason
and
erasing
our
seconds
moments
gone.
Why is awareness the
last thing to go?
I curse the black
holes in your eyes
(Dilating now)
and I swallow
one marvelous
bright ball
(one spicy star)
Now I’m spinning
I’m gambling
without knowledge
nor thought
(the explosion feels nice)
and you sigh
as I flash
and we crash
and our
planets
align
anew

A tanka by ben Alexander of ‘The Skeptic’s Kaddish’
lying on the floor finished, shattered by the fall hands limp from fatigue the fractured face of Venus aligned with her Mars again
Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.
–Ben Harper (b. 1969)
Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

Excellent both.
💗🙏🏻 Dolly 🙏🏻💗 ~ thanks!
My pleasure, David.
you two from Venus and Mars … that says it all. Nicely done! 🤣❣️
🤍🙏🏻 Cindy 🙏🏻🤍
😊😊
Thanks, Cindy! 💝
Both poems are so good! I especially like the crash and realignment indicated in both poems. They are different but end up at the same point – one of hope…
💚🙏🏻 Muri 🙏🏻💚
So pleased you enjoyed them! 💓💫
Both poems are great.
💚 thanks, Molly! 💚
Happy you enjoyed! 💝🥰💫
Oh yes, you hit the mark
On target, both Poem
And the Tanka
I feel what it means to be
Battled scarred:
heroes,
And friends,
Also public enemies, (the worst)
Of the polars and the dichotomies,
In the resillience of the windflower, the naiad and the starfish
Galactica missions of the inner planets,
the alignment of Venus and Mars
Breathtaking
Both of you
🖤🙏🏻 Abi 🙏🏻🖤 ~ thanks!
❤
Great comment! The battle-scarred feeling was definitely what I was going for with these two as well as the need to start over, to try again! 💝
Thank you!!
Poetry sublime, Tricia, amazing collaboration, love the chemistry between the two. 💖.

So, I’ve been a sick puppy from a sinus infection the past few weeks and then my son gave me some virus to really put me over the edge. Going to the doctor in the morning. In the meantime, the pseudoephedrine is creating some interesting poetry. Check out my otherworldly collaboration with David from The Skeptic’s Kaddish! 🥳💥💫
🧡
Your tanka is the perfect response!!! Venus and Mars have all the fun. Thanks for indulging my wild space fantasies while I’m drugged up on pseudoephedrine tonight! ❤️💫💥
💛🙏🏻 Tricia 🙏🏻💛 ~ this was fun!
