The three quatrains below were created with an AI tool available at the “Verse by Verse” website. I penned the first line of each quatrain, and then, for the remainder, I selected lines generated by the AI, which were intended to imitate the writing style of Robert Frost.
Also, the image I selected for this blog post was generated by AI at the “Craiyon” website. To create it, I simply inserted the entire text of this AI-generated poem into the text box and pushed the ‘draw’ button. Then I cropped the image to a rectangular shape.
Soulless words don't make poetry- The moon with clouds against her blue, Bent over me beside the tree, That she could form and look like you. Nor you, nor I are in these lines- Things simply just for their last miss. Though a star played beside a sign, With something of a moon like this. Uninspired, I'm soon off to bed- Unto me may be liked the brook. To go on with a heavy tread, Sometimes we have this way to look.
d’Verse poetry prompt: Meet the bar artificially
At d’Verse today, we were encouraged to see what we may do with any AI tool to write our own poems. We were asked to indicate in our responses what tools we employed and how we worked our own voices into our poems.
Let’s write poetry together!
When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.–Ben Harper (b. 1969)
Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

Sometimes it gets it so wrong, but this one wasn’t so bad, actually.
🧡🙏🏻 Brandon 🙏🏻🧡 ~ I guess so…
Better than the one I tried. It made no sense at all! Lol
I think that AI may give you a line or two but it is merely a recreation of things that has already been written.
💛🙏🏻 Björn 🙏🏻💛 ~ pretty much so!
Great job, David. Bravo!
💜🙏🏻 Gwen 🙏🏻💜 ~ thanks
AI can’t feel. Writing is feeling and poetry is why
💟 🙏🏻 P. A. 🙏🏻 💟 ~ indeed!
