The plump moon was concealed, blanketed by the thick night clouds, but the area around his park bench was bright enough beneath the glow of the midnight streetlights.
Uriel stared down at the delicate flowers in his hand. Renewal. Humans simply didn’t know how good they had it.
This newest assignment was considered quite prestigious, and Uriel should have been grateful, but he had long since grown weary of the endless watch. Century after century, nothing ever changed. Humans, with death hanging over them, had endless opportunities to renew themselves… but what of him?

How sad many angels must be if indeed they have emotions. Their job would be much easier if they don’t, I think.

No matter how expansive or how small a life is, each life is a book on it’s own.
What is so amazing about this prompt piece is the manner in which you captured the despair of a nurturing life, bring to light how we all have our moments.
🤍🙏🏻 Abi 🙏🏻🤍 ~ beautifully put
Thank you David
Have a wonderful Monday 🤍
Well done, David.
It is always a treat to read your cleverly combined challenges. But in this case, I have used and I love (relate to) that pic. I, like Peter Reading, have a thing for benches. Have a seat and write a thing…anything. 🙂
