Full Muse Queen, or: Creative Source

Poetry Partners #177

‘Inside This Place’, a ‘Vilanelle’ by Karima Hoisan of ‘Digital Rabbit Hole’

Inside this place my dreams and verse are born
Like magic, words brew with no help from me
I do but watch the process every morn

As dialogue in dreams comes to adorn
Subconscious yearnings I can never see
Inside this place my dreams and verse are born

The door is latched, I never leave forlorn
To hold a mindless space is writing's key
I do but watch the process every morn

The words gush pricked from my poetic thorn
My pen draws blood and lets it flow so free
Inside this place my dreams and verse are born

Humbled I see my ego being torn
I have but a mere scribe's validity
I do but watch the process every morn

Creative Source comes here to be reborn
In waiting earth it plants a flowering tree
Inside this place my dreams and verse are born
I do but watch the process every morn

An ‘Terzanelle’ by ben Alexander of ‘The Skeptic’s Kaddish’

Creative Source comes here to be reborn
Even as my eyelids flutter awake
I do but watch the process every morn

Creative pressure causes me an ache
Lips release lines while I'm yet on my back
Even as my eyelids flutter awake

Desperate, too oft I feel the hours' lack
I've not the time to empty my heart out
Lips release lines while I'm yet on my back

Concepts and sounds topple my last redoubt
Wild notions teem through snaking passages
I've not the time to empty my heart out

Proud structure ravaged by her savages
The full Muse Queen borne in on plush litter
Wild notions teem through snaking passages

Rising, I deepest strong room consider
Creative Source comes here to be reborn
The full Muse Queen borne in on plush litter
I do but watch the process every morn

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Ben Harper (b. 1969)

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!
