REBLOG: โ€˜Pieces of Meโ€™ by Maggie Watson

I.

Pieces of me.
Blowing in the wind, like the petals from a flower or the leaves from a tree.
Look around, and you will find.
Pieces of me.

II.

I have given
parts of myself
too freely
in the past.
My body,
my heart.
Now I am nothing more than an empty shell lying on the beach.
But I will not seek love or attention.
To find myself again, I must look inside.
Only I am responsible for my resurrection.
There is no other way.
My demons I must slay.
And so I will travel back to a place that holds much pain.
Until I find the courage to do that, pieces of me lying in the sand will remain.

III.

Amid winter
I found pieces of me.
Discovery
lying on the ground with the leaves and debris.
Pieces I had long since forgotten.
Now dead like the rest of the wood cut down.
Rotten.
I knew there was no point in trying to revive those parts of me
Broken.
That version of me no longer exists.
So I set the pieces alight and watched as the embers flew away.
History.
Today is untarnished or stained.
And tomorrow

mystery waits.

  1. fortunately you never give pieces of yourself to others by fragmenting or crumbling, but they are personal choices to expose or share part of yourself that is heart soul time ideas etc. On the other hand, always remaining intact and ourselves, each of our parts remains our entirety ๐Ÿ˜‰

    This is an unselfish process

โœI have given parts of myself too freely in the past.โœ

    Especially when giving becomes unsustainable

(Iโ€™m just popping in to say good morning, we have loadshedding and I hope to catch my penfriends later, have a lovely Sunday)

        Artistically, Narratively and Technically sublime

        Courageous and Honest
I’d love to explore all these rooms she touched on
And then after all the work has been done
To be bold, for mystery awaits. Powerful.

        ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™good morning David.
