Etrog, or: Citrus medica

A ‘Symetrelle’

aurous citrus medica

how black-robed religious jews inspect
you, seeking specimens most perfect

scent of autumnal festival of booths, you
captivate my eyes with your lemony hue;
you impossible, fragrant jewel, it's you
who enlivens lifeworn mortal soul anew

it's wondrous to me in all respects
how you senses to our depths connect

aurous citrus medica

Symetrelle?

d’Verse poetics: Everything yellow

At d’Verse, we are encouraged to explore the world of yellow’ness through poetry.

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Ben Harper (b. 1969)

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

  1. My first time being introduced to this form. The chart makes it look complicated, but when I look closer, it’s perhaps not as challenging as it looks. Something to keep in the back of my mind.

  2. Wow, wow, wow ๐Ÿ˜€ you worked wonders with this form, David!! Lovely!! โค๏ธโค๏ธ

    Especially since lemon extract
    Or whole
    Yes the grated zest
Is one of my all time favourite smells
    Like lemon grass
