Belle(s), or: Lettres

A clean limerick (really)

Beauty's father feared she'd never be wed.
It seemed she fancied reading instead.
But Beast? Oh, what a find-
A beau of similar mind
Who thought it cute she lived stuck in her head!

d’Verse poetics: Erik Johansson’s art

At d’Verse, we are encouraged to select a surrealist photo of Erik Johansson’s and compose poems inspired by those that we chose. The surrealist image I selected is called ‘Stuck Inside’.

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Ben Harper (b. 1969)

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

  1. A really nice lyric, David, fits the picture so very well. I need to write another, I haven’t written on for quite a spell, I used to write at least one a month.
