Little pig, or: The big, bad wolf

A tanka

running away she
shrieks the terrified piglet
not expecting me
to be a wolf though my child
begged that I should tickle her

W3 poetry prompt

For this week’s W3 prompt, Suzette Benjamin encourages us to write: A) a haiku, OR: B) a tanka on the theme of “a favorite way to relax / unwind”

to be a wolf

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.

Would you like to create poetry with me and have a completed poem of yours featured here at the Skeptic’s Kaddish? I am very excited to have launched the ‘Poetry Partners’ initiative and am looking forward to meeting and creating with you… Check it out!

  1. Lovely moment, reminded me of when I was little and my mum gave us bear hugs, when I would ask for one I was full of apprehension as they were so tight! ❤️

  2. A tickle monster in wolf’s clothing, it would seem. Very nice, David. A breath of fresh, rejuvenating air… Almost blew my house of horrors down!

      1. True that! I don’t know why my mind keeps constructing them. It doesn’t learn its lesson… Thank you for almost smashing it up 😄 I needed this.
